Single-zone ductless heat pump outdoor unit on a stand

Why ductless

A ductless system puts a quiet wall or floor unit in each room, fed by one outdoor heat pump. Each head has its own control, so the bedroom and the living room don’t have to agree. No ducts, no bulkheads, no tearing open finished walls.

For a three-season cottage going year-round, an addition over the garage, or a house on baseboard heat, it is usually the fastest and cheapest way to add proper heating and cooling.

What we install

Single-zone systems

One outdoor unit, one indoor head. The addition, the shop, the bonus room.

Multi-zone systems

One outdoor unit feeding several heads, zoned room by room.

Cold-climate models

Units rated to heat below -25°C, not the budget ones that quit at -15.

Wall, floor & ceiling units

Low-wall and ceiling cassettes where a wall head doesn’t suit the room.

Line-set routing

Line-hide covers, clean penetrations and condensate handled properly.

Wi-Fi controls

So the cottage is warm before you get there.

How we do it

Room-by-room sizing — oversized heads short-cycle and don’t dehumidify.
Heads placed for airflow and looks, agreed with you before we drill.
Vacuumed, charged and commissioned to spec, not just plugged in.
Rebates and financing laid out in the quote where they apply.

Questions we get asked

Where does ductless make sense?

Additions, bunkies, cottages, bonus rooms, garages and older homes without ducts. If the house already has good ductwork, a central system is usually the better buy.

Does one outdoor unit run several rooms?

Yes. Multi-zone systems feed two to four indoor heads from one outdoor unit, each with its own control.

Will it heat a cottage in winter?

Cold-climate models heat reliably to -25°C. For a cottage left heated at a low setpoint, we add monitoring and backup heat as needed.

How long does it take to install?

A single-zone system is typically installed in a day.

What brands do you install?

We install Gree cold-climate ductless systems and others, chosen for parts availability and local support.
